Kathleen
Gurney is a pioneering expert in the study
of psychology and money, and the founder and
CEO of Financial Psychology Corporation, a
North Miami, Florida-based financial consulting
company with a worldwide clientele. Dr. Gurney
has conducted groundbreaking research in the
psychology of money, interviewing tens of
thousands of people and applying statistical
analyses to those findings. Her studies were
the basis of her best-selling book, Your Money
Personality: What It Is and How You Can Profit
From It (Doubleday), and for the Moneymax®
Personality Profile. Developed to help people
identify, understand, and work with their

and finance industry.

has served as a faculty member at Harvard
University's Annual Congress on the "Psychology
of Investing" and was a featured expert
on improving savings behavior among U.S.
families for the American Savings Educational
Council (a coalition of U.S. government
and private industry leaders). Just recently
she was chosen to represent the Federal
Reserve Bank and the Direct Deposit/Direct
Payment Coalition in their public relations
and media outreach programs. She is also
part of the College for Financial Planning's

Dr.
Gurney was chosen to be one of a select

and educational leaders chosen to serve
on the Advisory board for the GE Center

with groups of 20 to 200, Dr. Gurney has
also spoken at a long list of conferences,
both here and abroad. The groups she has

of Female Executives, and the Charles Schwab
Annual Conference.
Dr.
Gurney earned her Ph.D. degree from the
University of Southern California and taught
there from 1981 to 1987. She and her husband
reside in North Miami, Florida where Financial
Psychology Corporation is headquartered.
